Edgar Allan Poe Reader Response
The Black Cat
This story is about this man who gets married to this woman. She had a lot of animals and he was ok with it because he loved animals. They had birds, fish, a dog, a rabbit, a monkey, and a black cat. The story was sayin how beautiful the cat was. the man's wife would always tell him that all black cats were witches. The cat was the man's favorite pet. The cat would follow the man all around the house. The friendship between the man and the cat lasted for years. Then the man started to drink. He bacame an alcoholic. With his drinking, he grew moody and irritated day by day. The man started to neglect and mistreat his pets. All except the black cat. The cat began to notice his temper. one day the man came home and noticed that the cat ignored him, so he got angry. he started to use violence with the cat. The cat bit him and the man pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the throat and then cut one of his eyeballs out. The next day the man felt guilty, although the cat had recovered. Everytime the man came around the cat would run in fear. Then the man hung the cat from a tree. The next thing you know, his house was on fire with him and his family in it, nut they managed to get out. the next day he came back to the house to see a disaster. Then upon a white surface he saw a figure of a huge cat with a rope around its neck. The family had to find them somewhere else to live. In this house, the man found another black cat. it was almost like the first except it had a white spot on its stomach. the wife loved this this cat. one day the man was trying to kill this cat with an axe but instead he killed his wife because she was trying to save the cat. The cat was no where to be found. The man put the dead body in a wall and was feeling hurt for a few days. Then the police came to see what was going on. They inspected the house and the man thought everything was going to go well. just as they were about to leave, a meow came from behind a wall. they took down the wall and there was the dead body and the black cat.
The main character of this story is a man who is an alcoholic who goes crazy and kills cats. Emotionally i think that he was just easily annoyed. I say this because in the story it says that he likes the cats at first but eventually they got on his nerves.
If i were to change the story into a movie, i would have Johnny Depp play the main character. Angelina Jolie would play the wife. The reason i would choose these people to play these characters is because they fit the roll. In the movies, Angelina and Johnny are always doing something crazy, and this story is just insane!

Today in Geometry Class I relearned how to solve for x in a polygon. This is how you do it:
One angle equals 90 degrees and the angle above it equals 60 degrees. What is the messure of the missing angle? To figure this out, first you have to figure out how many degrees are in a triangle. You would find that it is 180 degrees. Then you would have to set 90 degrees, 60 degrees, and x to equal 180 degrees. then solve algebraically.
90+60+x=180
150+x=180
x=30
A Book You Should Read
The title of this book is "Flyy Girl" by Omar Tyree. This story is basically about a girl, named Tracy Ellison, growing up in a pretty friendly neighborhood. Its starts off by her hating boys! She couldnt stand them, she didnt trust them, etc. Then eventually she began to like boys. She liked them so much that she eventually went boy crazy. She started dating rough necks and drug dealers and it eventually got her into trouble. I dont want to spoil the story, just in case anyone want to read it, but its an interesting book. I really believe that people, especially young ladies should read this book. The reason I say this is to get youth to see situations, like the ones in this story, actually happen, and they need to watch themselves so that they won't have to go through anything like it.
